New Terenure CC Crest

The new Terenure Cricket Club crest has been officially unveiled.

The first fund raiser for the year took place on 26th February and was a great success financially and socially for the club. The club wish to thank all those who supported the event, and also to Gerry Hoey for organising the event and MC for the night Myles O'Brien.

 

Shane Mott, the Terenure CC overseas pro for 2010, took his 200th wicket in Sydney Grade cricket in his 9 wicket haul over the weekend. The left-arm opening bowler is now 3rd in the top wicket takers and 5th in the bowling averages for the season.

Congratulations to all of our Schoolboys who have been selected for the various underage Leinster training squads this winter.

Darren Nicol, Benn Hoey, Tom Lynch and Michael Hogan were selected for the U/15's training squad (squad in full).

Danny Hogan and Michael Hoey were selected for the U/13's training squad (squad in full).

David O'Connor, Craig Kennedy, Gearoid Lynch and Cillian Johnson were selected for the U/11's training squad (squad in full).

Following a proposal at the AGM and consultations with the CYM Society executive, CYM CC has changed its named to Terenure Cricket Club with immediate effect.

 

There are new cricket section membership rates for 2010, which are due to be paid by 31st March. The club has also introduced a new policy in which all players will be required to have their sub paid (or a standing order set up) along with the completion of the new membership application form before they can play any matches.

Niall McDarby won the 1XI Player of the Year for 2009 at the Presentation Night held in the club on Friday 15th January.

The 2XI were also presented with their trophy and medals for winning Middle A last year, while a special presentation was made to Warrick Hewitt for his contribution to the club as a player and administrator over the past 10 years.

 

Indoor Nets have been confirmed for St. Columba's College starting Wednesday 17th February from 8-10pm. The sessions will continue every Wednesday until the end of March.
